Paul Pogba: I will prove Manchester United made a mistake!

The France international midfielder parted ways with the Red Devils for the second time and will now be back at Juventus.

Paul Pogba says he wants to prove that Manchester United made a mistake by not renewing his contract this summer.

The 29-year-old midfielder will leave United on a free transfer for the second time on June 30 after struggling to find consistency during his six years at Old Trafford.

United signed Pogba from Juventus for a then-world record transfer fee of £89 million in August 2016, four years after he left Manchester to join the Italian giants.

What did Pogba say?

Pogba, speaking in his new Amazon Prime documentary titled The Pogmentary, said: "In my mind is to prove to Manchester [United] that they made a mistake in keeping me waiting on a [new] contract."

"And to show other clubs that Manchester made a mistake by not offering me a contract."

An offer that is nothing

United made at least two bids for Pogba worth over £300,000-a-week, which has made the player one of the highest-paid footballers in the Premier League.

But Pogba responded to comments by his late agent Mino Raiola about United's second bid in July last year, saying the club had offered him "nothing".

"How can you tell a player that you really want him and offer him nothing? said Pogba. "Never seen anything like that."

Close to Juventus

Pogba only managed to win the Europa League and League Cup at United but he helped France lift the 2018 World Cup trophy.

Juventus now have a great chance of signing Pogba again this summer and the France international is hoping to find his best form again as he proved in his first spell in Turin.
