Cristiano Ronaldo Heads For Man United Exit, Bruno Fernandes Raises His Voice
Ronaldo & Bruno were among the two players not seen at Carrington in Ten Hag's pre-season training session which started earlier this week.
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes believes his compatriot, Cristiano Ronaldo, will stay at Old Trafford this summer.
Ronaldo scored 24 goals and provided three assists in 38 appearances for Man United throughout the 2021/22 season. However, it was a disappointing season for the club: a sixth-place finish, worst points in the Premier League era and five years of failing to win a trophy.
Speculation surrounding the future of the 37-year-old has emerged as United's transfer activity has been sluggish. Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon, AS Roma and Inter Miami are among the clubs that have been linked with the superstar.
Ronaldo's contract at United only has a year remaining or expires at the end of next season, although with the option of an additional 12 months.
"Cristiano Ronaldo situation? I spoke to him a few weeks ago, so I hope to meet him on the fourth day for pre-season training, and nothing else", Fernandes told the media.
Portugal, Record, Thursday (30/6).
"I don't think Man United opened the door to losing a top resource like Cristiano," he added.
United have not brought in any new players this summer. However, there are at least three names that are expected to join Erik ten Hag's squad, namely: Frenkie de Jong [Barcelona], Tyrell Malacia [Feyenoord], and Antony [Ajax].
Continuing to dwell in the exploration period, the Red Devils may still be without new players on their pre-season tour to Thailand on 8 July.
