Manchester United transfer news LIVE Frenkie de Jong latest as Erik Ten Hag targets Man Utd signing
The summer transfer window will open in just four days' time allowing Manchester United to begin their business.
New manager Erik ten Hag has got a big window on his hands as he looks to put his own stamp on a squad that put in the club's worst-ever Premier League campaign last term.
Plenty of players have been linked with United in the run-up to the window to fill their troubled positions - namely centre-midfield, centre-back and up-front - but no deals have been sealed yet.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to being named the club’s Player of the Year.
“Thanks to all the fans who voted for me,” Ronaldo posted. “I couldn’t be more proud of winning the Sir Matt Busby Award in my comeback year to Old Trafford and to the Premier League.
“This award goes to all the supporters who’ve never let us down during a very difficult season. Thank you so much for always being on our side and for helping us get Man United back on track. We know we can count on you.”

Erik ten Hag 'convinced' he can lure Frenkie de Jong to United
Frenkie de Jong is the top name again today.
This report suggests Erik ten Hag is confident of a deal taking place.
United 'keen' on Denzel Dumfries deal
United want a new right-back this summer and Erik ten Hag could target another Dutchman to solve that position as well.
Calciomercato suggest United are keen on signing Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries. They claim Bayern Munich are also interested in the 26-year-old.
Barcelona 'yet to receive' formal Frenkie de Jong offer
United are interested in a move for Frenkie de Jong but have yet to make an opening offer for his services.
Sport suggest Barcelona are open to selling the Dutchman this summer and they would be open to negotiating a deal.
Mitchell van der Gaag training sessions might divide Manchester United dressing room
Erik ten Hag doesn't have any experience of British football, but his two assistant managers will compensate for that. Steve McClaren knows all about the Premier League and Manchester United and Mitchell van der Gaag actually played for Motherwell in Scotland for two years.
McClaren and Van der Gaag attended United's last match of the season against Crystal Palace with Ten Hag and that was confirmation before the official announcement both coaches would be part of the new backroom staff at Old Trafford. Ten Hag, Van der Gaag and McClaren sat with John Murtough and Richard Arnold at Selhurst Park. Van der Gagg was pictured writing notes.
United's rebuild will be shaped by those five men. The club has been forced into a transitional period after its worst season in decades and Ten Hag is staring at the biggest challenge of his career, which is why he needed his own, trusted coaches.
Ronaldo reacts to winning Manchester United player of year award
Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a thank you message to Manchester United fans after winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
The 37-year-old scooped the Sir Matt Busby Award after enjoying a superb first season back at Old Trafford following his return last summer. Ronaldo scored 24 goal in all competitions as he proved to be a rare bright spark in an otherwise disastrous season for United.
Ronaldo also won the club’s goal of the season competition, with his spectacular strike against Tottenham back in March winning the public vote. The Portugal international dominated the shortlist, with his strike in the return fixture at Spurs finishing second.
Matthijs de Ligt sends Jurrien Timber message amid Manchester United links
Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has hailed Netherlands teammate Jurrien Timber as reports linking him with a move to Manchester United continue to swirl.
Timber has been backed to follow former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford this summer. The youngster was a mainstay in Ten Hag's Ajax side last season, playing 43 games in all competitions as his side defended their Eredivisie crown.
The 20-year-old centre-back offers versatility as he can also play at right-back, something which will no doubt be of interest to United given their intention to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka. De Ligt - who commented on his own future amid United interest at the weekend - has been able to witness Timber’s qualities up close.
