Portugal boss Fernando Santos has backed Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to stay at United next season.

The 37-year-old has seemingly indicated he will be staying at Old Trafford for another 12 months. There had been some doubt over whether the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would see out the final year of his contract, having signed a two-year deal upon his return to United last summer.

But, upon receiving the club’s Player of the Year awardRonaldo gave his clearest indication yet that he intends on staying put. The Portugal international insisted he is still happy at United and is looking forward to working under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Here's what he said.

Bergwijn makes honest transfer admission amid talk of Manchester United move

Steven Bergwijn has admitted he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer – and has left the door open for a potential move to Manchester United.

The Dutch winger has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag gets down to work on building his squad for next season. Among the areas that need addressing for United, they'll be in the market for new forward options.

Bergwijn could be in the mix for a move during the summer, with reports linking him with a move away from north London. The 24-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Tottenham’s side since joining the club in 2020.
